My Primary responsibilities at Royal Holloway include the management and maintenance of 2 department laboratories, 130+ MSc Students, 40+ PhD Student PC’s, 40+ Staff PC’s, and the departmental office systems. In addition to this, I also supported the Mathematics Department, including 2 laboratories, 10+ PhD Students, and another 30+ staff.
My responsibilities also include assisting the Network Administrator with his day-to-day tasks, including server and network maintenance, and the general day-to-day running of the IT systems throughout the department. My role includes various decision making requirements, along with the creation of policies & procedures.
During my time here, I have supervised the deployment of new streamlined machine installs, assisted in the teaching of various practical units, handled staff training, taught part of the Symantec SGS (Symantec Gateway Security) Appliance Course to the MSc students over 4 days, and setup (including continued management) of the department’s new Security laboratory. I have also created streamlined Lab Environment installs for use during the externally taught courses by KPMG and Foundstone (Mcafee).
While working at Royal Holloway, I have attended a large portion of the MSc courses (including Computer Law), completed the Foundstone ‘Ultimate Web Hacking’ course, the KPMG ‘Hacker Bootcamp’ course, and the Symantec ‘Firewall Appliance’ course.
In addition to all of this, I have handled the department photography, which has included having some of my work published in department works, creation of the new ISG Website, and the new ISG Blog.
While at Royal Holloway, I also began my contract for VOME.
